05/20/2010 - Illusion places 2nd at All Levels Nationally
CONGRATULATIONS TO ILLUSION (SMALL SENIOR 4 TEAM 2009-2010)
Illusion placed 2nd in the country amongst all the small senior 4 teams in the vitual, online National competition: All Levels Championship!
This was amongst 5 different championship locations across the country.
We are so proud of this team and how much they accomplishmented this past season! Thanks for making us proud!

Jazz: Characterized by its attitude and use of stylistics, jazz uses
turns, high kicks, and leaps to highlight the fun and energy used
in each move!
Hip Hop: Usually danced to Hip Hop music, It is unique in that it
allows its dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding
in their own personalities. Lots of energy and combinations of
many styles including popping, locking, breaking choreography.
Lyrical/Contemporary: This style is very personal to each
dancer. It combines jazz, modern and ballet styles together using
classical as well as unconventional techniques to draw out
emotion.
Turns and Leaps: This technique class will focus on turn
technique and learning different types of turns and how to execute
them. This class will also focus on leap technique (how to do
amazing leaps and execute them correctly)
04/06/2010 - Dance Academy Starts at PCM Murrieta

Hello PCM Parents and Friends,
We would like to take this time to inform you on another great extension to our corporation. As many of you may be aware of, this week we are handing out our PCM tryout postcards at practices for your child to pass out at grocery stores, schools, parks and neighbors. You will notice we have advertised Cheer and Dance Facility on the cards. The PCM Murrieta location will be starting a new and exciting Dance Academy as of June 1, 2010. We are so excited for this new program to be a part of our Nationally Ranked cheer program and we know it will excel; just like our Competitive Cheer Program.
During the first two weeks of May, Murrieta will be closed in preparation for our new season. We will be undertaking and enduring lots of construction and trading in our old walls for a New Design in Purple, Orange and White throughout the gym. Our Dance program will take place in our current parent viewing area and we will be building a new parent viewing area with air conditioning. Please be patient with us during our time of remodeling. Thank you in advance.
Now I would like to take a moment to introduce you to our NEW Dance Director: Jacqueline "Jax" Gonzalez. She is the former owner of Murrieta Dance Company. Jax has been in the dance industry for most of her life and she has spent the last 11 years teaching and owning her own business. She has been on stage and danced behind such stars as: singers Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins and Earth, Wind and Fire. She has toured the country in many professional productions of Ballroom, Hip Hop, Jazz and Contemporary Championships. In addition, to the stage and competition performances, she has been on tv shows, such as, the Megan Mullally Show and NBC News with POD. Administratively, Jax was the Administrative Assistant at the Callahan Institute of Arts in Encinitas, CA from 2004 to 2009. There, she directed a semi-professional Hip Hop team called "Phenomenon". Jax is well known for her Hip Hop style and mastery and we are excited to see what variations she will bring to each and every class.
Beginning June 1st, we will begin to offer various classes (Jazz, Hip Hop, Breakin, Contemporary, turns & leaps, stretching, Swing and/or Ballet). As we begin these new classes they will be open to all ages and abilities. Over the course of the summer months (June through August) we will be building our enrollment and developing our dancers' technique. It is our hope that we will continue our path of success in teaching children the love of an activity and based on our enrollment we would like to build a competitive dance program by September of 2010. Our June 1st schedule will be available by May 1st and all dance classes are by pre-sign ups. The enrollment in a class is 8-10 kids.
We encourage our cheerleaders to take extra dance classes to build their coordination and to give them a new spark in learning. This will also be great for siblings who like to participate in two activities and parents that can drop them off at one location. For our new season we have made all classes the same price per any combination of classes you would like to enroll your child. Please see below:
In closing, we would like to welcome Jax to the Pacific Coast Magic Family and she will be attending our End of the Year Banquet on Friday, April 16th. We hope you and your child are as excited as we are to embark on another PCM program.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE CHANGE
Just a reminder…Pacific Coast Magic will be attending ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS on March 27-28 in Palm Springs. Hotel stays are not mandatory. Be sure to log this into your calendar.
WACKY WEEK…March 8-12
The Teams have been working so hard, we thought we could all use a WACKY WEEK!!
Next week we will have themed practice attire:

All attire must be suitable for working out in.
PCM WILL BE OPEN/CLOSED
The Laguna Hills location will be closed April 5, 6, 7 for the Easter Holiday and Spring Break but ALL teams will be practicing on Thursday the 8th and Friday the 9th in preparation for the American Championships.
The Murrieta location will be OPEN the week of April 5-9. All Classes and Teams will practice.

PCM 2010-2011 Tryout dates have been set. April 27th-30th (ages and times will be released at a later date) Practices will begin on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Open Workouts will begin on Monday, April 12th for Tryouts and will continue to April 26th. Each location will send out an email with more information on Classes and Clinics.

CONGRATULATIONS TO FANTASY AND MYSTERIOUS!!
We are so proud to be sending two teams to the CHEERLEADING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! This is an honor! What are the Cheerleading Worlds? The most prestigious competition governed by the USASF. It is an invitation only competition and teams from around the World (Yes…around the WORLD) will be competing! We’ll update you with more information as the competition draws near. We will have a send off for these two amazing teams and there will be an opportunity for you to watch it live on your computer!

The PCM 2010 Yearbooks will be hardbound and consist of approximately 75 colored pages of beautiful PCM memories captured in exciting and fun filled pictures. All of our competitions, functions and events will be captured to Include an owners/coaches page and WORLDS! There will be a team section with full team photo and individual pictures of each and every PCM cheerleader. Shout out pages are available for

LAST MONTH OF FEES FOR THE 2010 SEASON!
WoooHooo!! March is the last month of monthly payments for the 2009/2010 season. YAY!! Of course if you are taking a tumbling or flying class, those charges will still occur on the first of April.
PAST DUE BALANCES
Unfortunately, PCM is carrying some very large past due balances on team accounts. These balances put our teams and program at risk for not being able to register for our final set of competitions. If you owe more than your normal monthly fees, YOU MUST come to the office immediately and make a payment to bring your account current. If you have a past due balance, you WILL NOT be allowed to purchase any clothing or extra items, order pre-sale tickets, take private lessons or classes etc. We thank you for your continued support and immediate response and understanding.
FLYER AND TUMBLING CLASSES
Now that our competition season is well underway and try-outs are right around the corner, you might want to consider taking an extra tumbling class or a strength and core class for flying. These classes will improve your individual skills which ultimately will help your team. Contact the office for days and times. PCM cheerleaders receive a discount off of the monthly tuition.

Each month, Dr. Dan (Our Team Chiropractor) will be offering tips and articles on ways to keep our athletes in top condition. After all, these cheerleaders are ATHLETES and should be treated as such!! See attachment.

Again we are just beaming with pride! CheerPros and CheerSport were both amazing competitions! The excitement and energy (and of course the placements) were just what our teams needed to catapult us into the 2nd half of our competition season. Way to go!! Keep up the hard work! It’s paying off!

FROM THE HEDGREN FAMILY We would like to thank all of the PCM families for their prayers during the past few months. As some of you know (and others may not), Keri’s mom passed away on January 20th from Ovarian Cancer. We are so thankful to everyone for their cards, flowers, and compassion during this very difficult time.
PCM Hours of Vacation Time The gym will be open on Monday, February 15th for all practices and classes. JAMZ Nationals is that weekend. No excuses!! REGARDING SPRING BREAK…the Murrieta location will be open the week of April 5-9. The Laguna Hills location will be closed April 5, 6, 7 for the Easter Holiday and Spring Break but ALL teams will be practicing on Thursday the 8 and Friday the 9th in preparation for the American Championships. UPCOMING COMPETIITONS February 13-14 Small Senior 5 Fantasy and Small Coed Mysterious will be attending USA Nationals this weekend at the February 20-21 JAMZ Nationals (All Teams) Schedules will be released on Monday, February 15th. All Teams will be competing both Saturday and Sunday. It is highly recommended that you travel on Friday and return on Monday. Please do not chance driving the day of the competition. It is mandatory for all members to stay for their awards ceremony on Sunday. |

01/13/2009 - PC Magic featured in Cheer Biz News
Hello Parents, Friends and Cheerleaders of Pacific Coast Magic,
I just received some fantastic news and couldn't wait share it with all our members and friends that have been with us on this great journey through friendship, business and success.
Many of our members have seen us grow from 4 to 7 or 8 teams, moving to a large facility in two years and making a name for this great area in Southern California. As I express how excited I am I just wanna say thank you to all you that have been such a great part of my dreams and my goals in this industry.
Anyways, enough of the happy tears.... Pacific Coast Magic is being featured in this month's Cheer Biz News Magazine. It is a full page spread that shows pictures of the facility and an interview with the Coaching Staff. This is great honor for our Staff and members of the gym. And without the years of support we would never have been recognized this early in our gym career.
So again, thanks for the support and the hard work from our kids! I will try and get copies to pass out.
