DESCRIPTION OF CLASSES

We have re-named our classes but not to worry, Same Great Coaches...Same Great Instruction...Same Great Classes!

PeeWee Tumbling: This class if for our tiniest cheerleaders and tumblers! Basic tumbling and cheer skills, including exercises for balance, flexibility and body control are taught in this class. Ages 3-5

M.I.T (Magic In Training): This class is geared towards our younger students (ages 5-10) who are interested in learning how to become the next great cheerleader! Students will learn basic tumbling, jumps, motions, stunting, and even some cheers and dances to practice at home. This is a great introduction to our sport!

High School Prep:  Older students (ages 11 and up) learn and practice many different parts of cheerleading that are required at the high school level. This includes tumbling, stunting, jumps, motion, cheers and dances. This class is recommended for any student interested in trying out for middle school, high school, or all star cheerleading.

Beginning Tumbling:  This class works on introducing the student to, and perfecting the basics of tumbling and cheerleading-based gymnastics. By building a strong foundation, students will progress more quickly and completely as athletes. Students will work on skills that include rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, front and back walkovers and back handsprings. Classes may be separated based on age.

Intermediate Tumbling:  Students will learn and perfect standing and round-off back handsprings and multiple back handsprings, and general tumbling progression in this class. Strong emphasis is placed on proper technique, strength, and safety. Students must be able to do a correct handstand, a round-off, and back walkover or backbend kick-over to enroll in this class.

Advanced Tumbling:  In addition to other skills, students will learn and perfect the back tuck in this class. Skills learned and practiced include: round-off back handspring back tuck, round-off tuck, standing back tuck, standing back handspring back tuck, front tuck, and jump-back handspring combinations. Students must be able to do standing 2 back handsprings and round-off two back handsprings with correct technique to enroll in this class.

Elite Tumbling: Students will learn and perfect advanced flipping and twisting skills in this class including layouts, standing back tucks, fulls, jump flip combinations, and various other elite passes. Students must be able to do a round-off back handspring tuck, a standing back tuck to enroll in this class.

Back Handspring Class:  Students in this class will work exclusively on standing back handsprings. Because of the specificity of this class, it is suggested that students younger than 12 be enrolled concurrently in a level 1 or level 2 tumbling class to join this class.

Drop In Classes: Drop in Classes are available with advanced notice to the office and are subject to availability.  Drop in Classes are $20 for Academy Members and $10 for Team Members.  A current registration fee must be paid for an athlete to participate in Drop in Classes.

Class schedule is subject to change without notification. Please contact the office to verify all classes.
